Voices of the Mountains Auditions

Voices of the Mountains will hold their annual auditions on Monday, August 27 from 7PM to 9PM at the Renaissance Center in Kingsport, TN.

Voices of the Mountains, the chorus affiliated with Symphony of the Mountains, will begin its eighth season in the Fall of 2012.  The chorus is an auditioned, regional ensemble formed by the merger of the Bristol Concert Choir and the Symphony of the Mountains Chorus.  Monday night rehearsals will alternate weekly between the Renaissance Center in Kingsport and King College Chapel in Bristol.  This facilitates rehearsal attendance for chorus members who drive from long distances and equitably distributes the commuting required.  Carpools are available and encouraged.

The Voices of the Mountains is directed by Dr. Patrick Flannagan, professor in the Music Department at King College, and accompanied by Vicki Fey, Director of Music Ministries and Organist at First Presbyterian Church in Bristol.

The chorus meets on Monday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 pm.  Auditions for Voices of the Mountains will be held on Monday, August 27 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm in Room 310 of the Renaissance Center in Kingsport. Preparation of an audition piece is not required.

Voices of the Mountains will perform with the Symphony of the Mountains for the Holiday Concert (December 1 & 2, 2012 in Kingsport and Abingdon), a concert of opera favorites in Kingsport with the symphony and world-renown tenor, Carl Tanner, on March 16, 2013, a VOTM-only performance of African-American spirituals on April 13, 2013 (at 1st Presbyterian Church in Kingsport), and Beethoven’s 9th Symphony on May 4, 2013  at Eastman Employee Center in Kingsport.
